JAKUBKOWIANIE Regional Group from Łososina Dolna

The group was established in 1996. The name derives from the Jakubkowice Parish, existing since the 14^th century. It cultivates the traditions, customs and rituals of the Sącz Lachs and authentic songs, dances from the village by the Dunajec river, just behind mount Just.

During the festival it will present a program entitled, Imioniny u Pietra.

We will see preparations for the feast, celebrations in the host’s (Peter) hut, making wishes, singing and dancing. What deserves attention is the host’s singing and dancing: podmaider polka, quick waltz and sztajer. The Jakubkowianie group has in their repertoire also the Lachian dance set, bitka, mietlorz and chodzony. This dance suite we will be able to see in the non-competition presentation.

The traditional musical instruments of the Lach group are: violin, trumpet, clarinet and bass.

The group leader is, Elżbieta Bryniak, choreographer is, Sławomir Bryniak and music director is, Dominik Dziedzic.
