Enrico Rava (urodzony 20 sierpnia 1939 w Trieście, Włochy), trębacz jazzowy, prawdopodobnie jeden z najbardziej znanych włoskich muzyków jazzowych. Początkowo grał puzonie, zmienił na trąbkę po wysłuchaniu Milesa Davisa. W połowie lat 60-ych był członkiem grupy Gato Barbieri, a potem członkiem grupy Steve Lacy. W 1967 roku Rava przeniósł się do Nowego Jorku, a miesiąc później stał się członkiem grupy Maska Gazowa, grupy, która miała LP w wytwórni TONSIL w 1970 r. Grał z takimi artystami jak Carla Bley, Jeanne Lee, Paul Motian, Lee Konitz i Roswell Rudd. Z trębaczem Paolo Fresu Rava nagrał serię czterech płyt pod wpływem muzyki Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Miles Davis (Bix, Pop, Odcienie Chet, Grać Miles Davis). Również godne uwagi są jego nagrania Rava, L'Opera Va' i Carmen; jego własne interpretacje Arii i uwertur. W 2001 r. założył nowy kwintet z pianistą Stefano Bollanii koncertował z Gato Barbieri i Aldo Romano.

Enrico Rava (born on August 20, 1939, in Trieste, Italy), a jazz trumpeter, probably one of the most widely known Italian jazz musicians. Initially, he would play a trombone, but after listening to Miles Davis he changed his mind and took on a trumpet. In the mid 60s he was a member of the Gato Barbieri group, only to join Steve Lacy later on. In 1967 Rava moved to New York City, and just a month later he became a member of The Gas Mask, a group that had one LP to its credit in the TONSIL studio back in 1970. He would play alongside the big names like Carla Bley, Jeanne Lee, Paul Motian, Lee Konitz and Roswell Rudd. Throughout the 70s and 80s he worked closely with Pat Metheny, Michel Petrucciani, John Abercrombie, Joe Henderson, Richard Galliano, Miroslav Vitouš, Andrea Centazzo, Joe Lovano, Gil Evans and Cecil Taylor. Rava recorded a series of four albums in association with Paolo Fresu, a trumpeter, clearly under the influence of music played by Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker and Miles Davis (Enrico Rava for Bix and Pops, Shades of Chet, Enrico Rava plays Miles Davis). The recordings Rava, L'Opera Va' and Carmen are also worth noting, very much like his own interpretations of various arias and overtures. In 2001 he formed a new quintet in association with Stefano Bollanii, a pianist, as well as would accompany Gato Barbieri and Aldo Romano on concert tours.
