Misty Schaffert
Misty Schaffert, urodzona w Seattle, USA, rozpoczęła naukę gry na fortepianie w wieku 6 lat. Jej pierwszy publiczny występ miał miejsce cztery lata później w wieku 10 lat. W tym roku zaczęła też pobierać lekcje gry na organach. W wieku 13 lat dostała swoją pierwszą pracę jako organista w Seattle.
Po ukończeniu szkoły średniej, otrzymała pełne stypendium na studia w Konserwatorium Muzycznym Sherwood w Chicago. Tam ukończyła dwa kierunkilicencjackie w klasie fortepianu i organów. Korzystając ze stypendium naukowego uzyskała tytuł magistra muzyki w zakresie fortepianu i organów w Chicago College of Performing Arts na Uniwersytecie Roosevelta.
Po studiach pracowała jako Dyrektor ds. Muzyki w kościele Old St. Mary’s Church w Chicago oraz pianista w Lincoln Opera w Chicago. Jest laureatem wielu konkursów na obu instrumentach, w tym dwa razy z rzędu w konkursie organistów American Guild of Organists w Chicago.
Brała udział w kursach mistrzowskich, które prowadzili Harald Vogel, Gilian Wier, Ewald Kooimann Xavier Darasse, Bernard Winsemius i Guy Bovet.
Najnowsze projekty to niemiecka premiera "Pasji Chrystusa" autorstwa koreańskiego kompozytora Geonyonga Lee. Ponadto, w Kairze w Egipcie artystka dokonała światowej premiery "Weg Farben" Wolfganga Klebera, kompozytora z Darmstadt.
Obecnie jest organistą w Michaelskirche w Darmstadt i pianistą chóru Kantorei Darmstadt-Arheilgen. Artystka gra koncerty w Europie i USA
Misty Schaffert
Misty Schaffert, born in Seattle, USA began piano lessons at age 6.Her first public performance was four years later at age 10. In that year she began organ lessons.At age 13 she held her first position as organist in Seattle.
After high school, she received a full scholarship for studies at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music in Chicago.There she completed two Bachelor of Music degrees in piano and organ performance.For her Master of Music degree with a double major in piano and organ, she attended the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University with a full academic scholarship.
After her studies, she held positions as Director of Music at Old St. Mary’s Church in Chicago and as pianist for the Lincoln Opera of Chicago.She won numerous competitions for both instruments including the American Guild of Organists Chicago competition for two consecutive years.
She has attended master classes with Harald Vogel, Gilian Wier, Ewald Kooimann, Xavier Darasse, Bernard Winsemius and Guy Bovet.
Recent projects include the German premiere of “The Passion of Jesus Christ” by Korean composer Geonyong Lee.In Cairo, Egypt she performed the world premiere of “Weg Farben” by the Darmstadt composer Wolfgang Kleber.
Currently she is organist at Michaelskirche in Darmstadt and pianist for the Kantorei Darmstadt-Arheilgen.She plays concerts in Europe and in the U.S.A.
