The folk group was created in 2007 in Miercurea-Ciuc in the capital of Harghita region situated in Transylvania, Romania. Most of the inhabitants are Hungarians. This region is called Szeklerszczyzna and is surrounded by mountains, Bihorskie and Rodna. The highest peak in the area is Harghita Madaras (1,801 metres a.s.l.)
The members of the group work with the School District of Harghita Folk Art, which promotes music, dance, crafts and ballet.

The members promote an archaic form of Hungarian folk music and treat it not as a hobby, but as an integral part of defining their lifestyle. The happens when they organize festivals, presentations, workshops, camps and workouts. The multicultural character of Transylvania is perfectly visible in the musical heritage of the region. Over the centuries of coexistence of different ethnic groups in this area has created a special musical symbiosis, in which the most distinctive are Hungarian, Romanian and Gipsy.
Precisely these influences the Köpice group will present on stage at the Zakopane festival, male and pairs dances: the Romanian from Bonchidy (Rom. Bontida), the Hungarian from Válaszút (Rom. Răscruci) and the Gipsy from Ördöngösfüzes (Rom. Fizeşu Gherlii.).
